GoCimo expands internationally – partnering with Wolt to power sustainable last-mile delivery in Copenhagen

E-moped riders in Copenhagen can now swap batteries in seconds instead of waiting hours for charging. The shift away from CO2-emitting mopeds has just become easier.

Copenhagen, [2025/09/22] – Swedish mobility company GoCimo today announced the launch of its battery swapping service for e-mopeds in Copenhagen. The initiative represents a major step toward sustainable urban transport and provides a practical, scalable alternative to petrol mopeds for delivery and service fleets. Wolt, Scandic and Q-Park are all key partners in the launch.

Building on successful operations in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, GoCimo’s concept enables riders to replace a discharged battery with a fully charged one in just ten seconds at strategically located stations across the city. The system eliminates downtime for charging and makes it possible for couriers to operate with virtually unlimited range.

“This is a big and important step for us,” says Jamie Saab, Global Sustainability Lead at Wolt. “We see battery swapping and GoCimo as the perfect match to enable e-mopeds for delivery without losing productivity.”

The first battery swap stations are now live in central Copenhagen through partnerships with Q-Park, at their parking facility on Nyropsgade, and with Scandic Hotel in Kødbyen.

“The collaboration with GoCimo and Wolt is a natural fit with our mobility hub concept, where more and more of our facilities are evolving beyond parking to include booking services, EV charging and connections to shared mobility and last-mile solutions,” says Johan Juncker, Business Development Manager, Q-Park Denmark.

“At Scandic, we have long worked to reduce our climate footprint and create better urban environments. We are proud to be part of this solution, which makes it easier to deliver goods in Copenhagen without emissions and noise,” says Frode Jansson, General Manager, Scandic Kødbyen.

The transition from petrol to electric mopeds also brings major environmental and social benefits. By eliminating noise and harmful particle emissions, GoCimo’s solution improves working conditions for couriers and enhances quality of life for Copenhagen residents.

“We are thrilled to launch in Copenhagen, a city with a strong two-wheel culture where sustainable living is already a natural priority,” says Mattias Tingvall, CEO of GoCimo.
“This expansion is another important milestone in our mission to accelerate fossil-free urban mobility and strengthen Copenhagen’s position as a European leader in green transport.”
